I have the honour to transmit for your

favourable consideration the enclosed draft Regulations under

the Royal Warrant of the 18th.May 1898 relating to the award-

ing of medals for long service to Volunteers. These regula-

tions are on the lines of those made on the 5th.April 1897

under the authority of the Royal Warrant of the 13th.June

1896 which has since been cancelled.

2. As these regulations require the ap-

proval of the Secretary of State for War before they can be

put

in force, I have to request that you will be good enough

to forward them to him, and recommend their adoption.
